P-way Supervisor

Our client is looking to hire an experienced P-Way Supervisor to work in their track team based in Sussex. You will assist in delivering track renewals and track maintenance on a long term contract that has been deemed Inside IR35.

The role itself:

  • Contract position, Inside IR35, based in Sussex
  • Responsible for the submission of accurate site records to enable effective monitoring of programme and cost plans as requested to agreed format as applicable
  • Ensure that toolbox talks, task briefs and COSS briefs are carried out for all work tasks prior to commencement of work for allocated contracts
  • Ensure that all allocated tasks are undertaken in accordance with the planned safe method of working
  • Responsible for ordering and receipt of site deliverables, timely returns of goods receipts notices as instructed.
  • Responsible for ordering and receipt of site plant, including security and timely off-hire as instructed
  • Supervise sub-contractors, contract staff and direct labour for allocated site activities

In this role as a P-way Supervisor, work sites can vary in size and complexity, meaning you will interact with a variety of diverse people in the railways. This full-time role provides a great rate of pay, with ongoing work potential for the right person.

What do you need?

  • The ability to supervise and lead the site team in the successful delivery of the allocated contracts.
  • Good experience of track maintenance and renewals
  • Strong knowledge of stressing
  • Experience of plain line and Switches & Crossings (S&C)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with site staff and project team.
  • Experience of railway construction management for specific discipline.
  • PTS/COSS
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques.
  • Must hold valid driving license
  • Engineer Supervisory skills

Ideally you would also have:

  • Understanding of Railway planning systems
  • Understanding of the Railway operating environment
  • Computer literacy - Excel, Word, Power point and Outlook
  • Engineering Supervisor
  • Supervisory Management training / qualification with relevant practical experience
  • Stressing ticket Level 3
  • Speed Raising/Track hand back Level 4
