About the role:

The Planning and Diagramming Specialist will play a leading role in Arriva Rail London’plans (ARL) vision for a world class railway for London by undertaking all aspects of train planning, unit diagramming and traincrew diagramming to the highest standards demanded for a high-performing railway.
There will also be the opportunity to tackle train planning projects, including planning for changes to services, building performance-led timetable changes and undertaking traincrew and unit diagramming feasibility studies.

Previous experience of train planning is not essential. It is more important that you demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a willingness to make the most of the training provided to learn the skills needed for this specialist area of the business.

About you:

• Educated to degree level in a numerate subject (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent IT literacy
• Experience of achieving deadlines and maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Track record of building effective working relationships with peers, internal customers and suppliers
• Ability to undertake project work and report on findings
• Proven success in redesigning business processes to implement faster and smarter ways of working
• Knowledge of the London Overground routes and train service plans along with a basic understanding of railway operating principles would be an advantage
