Role: Principal Consultant Archaeologist
Location: Flexible (Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol)
Salary: £39,000 - £48,000

I am looking to place a Principal Archaeologist / Heritage Consultant with an international engineering consultancy. Ideally, the firm are looking for the successful candidate to be based from Leeds but are happy to consider other locations for suitable individuals. The role is to support the firm with a wide variety of heritage-focused consultancy projects including feeding into construction and infrastructure schemes. The firm is one of the largest engineering consultancies in the world and works on some of the most high-profile schemes currently being undertaken in the UK and abroad.
The firms environmental team covers over 1,000 staff across various disciplines. You will interface with design engineers, commercial managers, landscape planners, project managers and other skilled professionals to support the delivery heritage inputs to Environmental Impact Assessments, Infrastructure design and construction (rail and road), field-based management activities, desk studies, and more.
You will be able to manage your own small team and have access to managing a team of field-based archaeologists across the UK. Ideally you will be a full Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA) with the ability to mentor more junior consultants on their path to their own accreditation as well as train more junior staff in GIS mapping protocols.
