Job Title - Project Manager

Location - London Eastbourne Terrace and Waterloo

Rates - £370 - £400 per day

About the role / project:

As Network Rail's Project Manager for SCADA you will be responsible for driving and enabling the delivery of new SCADA system infrastructure through our Principal Contractor. This includes Project Management of system configuration, SCADA screens, LAN/FTN networks, RTU's (Remote Telemetry Units), DNO supplies, fibre, VOIP etc. Liaison with Routes and dependent projects. Change control. Enabling end to end configuration, testing and entry into service, AMP process, handover etc.

Able to operate with little supervision, coordinating the work in a collaborative way while keeping relevant parties informed and reporting issues and progress of team and contractor.

Able to work closely with commercial team to monitor and control contractor's costs, and NR exposure, while ensuring progress is not held up.

What you will do:

  • To fully support the Senior Project Manager and Project Director in discharging their corporate, project and safety responsibilities.
  • To manage the works in accordance with GRIP, Contract Scope & Program.
  • Prepare project management plans and associated AMP's & Readiness Reviews on time with all stakeholders.
  • Prepare progress reports such as SOFT and Visualisation including risks / issues.
  • Lead all timely problem solving and / or escalation to senior management team.
  • Development of meaningful KPI's
  • Check that work is completed to standards & scope.
  • Check that safety, compliance, performance and business processes are followed.
  • Have understood the requirements of the Project Safety Strategy and implement this throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor delivery, productivity and efficiency against programme.
  • Undertake an agreed programme of safety tours, staff surveillance and work quality checks.

Essential:

  • Experience of Network Rail processes and procedures.
  • Project management processes and techniques
  • Health and safety management and compliance management processes
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management (CDM) 2015 requirements.
  • Knowledge of the Common Safety Method (CSM) requirements.
  • Business management processes and techniques experience
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and procedures
  • Knowledge of operational railway environment
  • Knowledge of other functional disciplines
  • Ability to work within a complex matrix organisation with multiple national stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills

Desirable:

  • PTS Certification
  • Membership of a relevant professional body and/or educated to degree level.
  • Knowledge of SCADA or Systems Engineering applications.
  • Knowledge of coaching & mentoring techniques
