Overview
A leading international rail company is seeking a Rail Depot Operative to work as a member of a team to assist in the service, maintenance, repair and overhaul of locomotives, coaching stock and equipment, also to assist with the provision of stores activities, re-fuelling and shunting and train preparation.

This is a great opportunity for ANYONE looking to work in the rail industry on a variety of rolling stock for an leading rail company.

Hours & Rate
Nights only - start/finish times TBC
£15.75/hour - nights only, pre-12 weeks
£17.88/hour - nights only post-12 weeks

Responsibilities
* Assist with the provision of stores activities
* Comply with all depot protection procedures
* Understand and abide to safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices, H&SAWA. and COSHH
* Will adhere to and work within Quality System to the current standard.
* Work as part of a team, completing or assisting in any of the team's activities to ensure work is completed on time and to specification.

Will also be responsible for:
* Shunting
* Coupling/uncoupling
* Train preparation
* Steam lancing
* Crane driving
* Fuelling
* Systems top up
* Will work with a team to ensure that the general housekeeping requirements are adhered to and standards of cleanliness maintained and improved.

Will be capable of accepting training in other skills and carry out duties, e.g. forklift, road vehicle driving (if certified), attend call-outs and breakdowns if required and trained as competent.
