Rail Programme Manager in Glasgow, Glasgow, United Kingdom
We are looking for a strong candidate to join a rapidly expanding company in a permanent position of Programme Manager. The company has been enjoying a successful period of growth with plenty more projects in the pipeline, and due to this growth, they are seeking an experienced rail candidate to undertake the Programme Manager role and lead a team on a variety of projects. The main role of the programme manager will be to lead, inspire, motivate and manage their high performing team and ensure all works are delivered to the company's vision, values, objectives and strategies. The successful candidate will need to be able to prove a strong background in delivering rail projects be they small, large or complex as well as demonstrate these projects have been delivered with strong standards in relation to health and safety, relevant legislation/standards and methodology. As the programme manager you will be expected to:
- Understand and manage contracts to deliver efficiently
- Have good control of budgets and manging finances
- Plan all works activities and implement a programme of works
- Build strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external
- Have a good understanding of gate process, risk management, planning, change control, project close out
- Manage the team effectively and encourage improvement by leading by example and championing the companys guiding principles
- Manage staff, carry out appraisals and support mentoring, learning and development
The right candidate will need to demonstrate at least 5 years of project management in the rail industry and have an excellent understanding of the GRIP process, CDM regulations and the application of various forms of supply contracts (ie: NEC) This person will be delivery focused, confident, driven and assertive and be able to build a strong team that can deliver in a pressurised industry.
