What will I be doing?
As a fully qualified, professional trainer, you will work with our team to deliver a range of accredited, non-accredited training and assessments to all learners in a professional, quality driven environment. Our sectors operates a 24/7/365 environment that requires flexibility to deliver in-line with client requirements which may include nights and weekends with potential for overnight stays as required. You will also support on the delivery of level 2 and level 3 apprenticeship standards delivering technical training and support for learners to achieve their qualifications ensuring that you work within regulated standards, guidelines and processes as set by the Company or awarding body. On a day to day basis your duties will include:
- Delivering training courses and workplace assessments in-line with Network Rail Sentinel rules, accreditation and regulatory Bodies, industry and company standards, group standards and current protocols and specifications.
- Demonstrating and mentoring behaviours that promote best practice that is above and beyond the normal behaviours that have traditionally existed within the railway industry.
- Regularly liaising with clients to communicate learner performance, results and issues to ensure these are resolved promptly.
- Ensuring that all required documentation for each training course / assessment / qualification is completed at the end of each session to the highest standard and meets all the requirements of NSAR and awarding bodies.
- Maintaining competence in-line with current standards by either online exams or assessments.
- Familiarisation with all method statements for trackside training.
- Preparing all training rooms, visual aids and assessment materials in-line with training plans.
- Ensuring all training/assessment plans are up to date in-line with current issue.
- Maintaining a record of Continuous Personal Development (CPD).
- Logging in to the Sentinel database at least twice a year to ensure skills are kept up to date. Ensure that evidence is retained and included in CPD.
- Ensuring track visit requirements are met and all resources required are adequate before/after use.
- IV responsibilities, as required.
- Attending training meetings when required.
- Undertaking verification activities in-line with the current system in accordance with sampling plan.
What experience would we like you to have?
To be successful in securing an interview, applicants must be registered with the National Skills Academy Railway (NSAR) and must possess industry required training and assessment capabilities including ‘Train the Trainer’ courses and Safety Critical competencies (to minimum COSS level).
