Recruitment and Training Coordinator in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Role Purpose

On behalf of the Head of HR:

Provide a unique and high quality recruitment and technical training service provision to Linbrooke Services Limited’s Rail & ntrs business employees.

This will consist of sourcing and attracting candidates and matching them to temporary or permanent positions, supporting line managers through the recruitment process to conclusion with start day acclimatisation and induction. This process shall as directed be applied to the resourcing of temp / fixed term contract positions.

Source in an efficient and coordinated manner all Linbrooke Services Limited’s rail business development and core competence training requirements and provide a key interface with the rail directors, the rail resourcing and Group Compliance teams in order to monitor and escalate training expiry details at suitable prior timeline to line managers for approval for action by this role.

This is a busy role requiring the successful candidate to be a good team player, extremely organised and a strong communicator who relishes a challenge.

Duties and Responsibilites

General:

Recruitment:

  • In close liaison with the rail resourcing team and business directors, understand Linbrooke Services Limited’s rail resource requirement and future needs having a clear understanding of the resourcing elements of our rail business plan.
  • Manage the end to end process for recruitment liaising with hiring line manager and Linbrooke Services Limited’s Head of HR, including the management of contract of employment issue.
  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with internal rail teams to ensure smooth end to end process is achieved.
  • Advertise Linbrooke Services Limited’s rail business and other vacancies in specific market sectors by drafting and placing adverts in a wide range of media, liaising with the group marketing team as necessary.
  • On specific direction of the MD Rail or Head of HR, identify headhunter consultants and / or approach suitable candidates directly who may already be in work, including the executive search for all levels of position.
  • Receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting to hiring / line manager criteria and managing interviews and psychometric tests/assessments and creating a shortlist of candidates for the hiring manager.
  • Speculatively recruiting for future positions and engaging with prospective candidates.
  • Requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the hiring manager.
  • Verifying eligibility to work in the UK and any visa requirements, where applicable.
  • Briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question.
  • Preparing CVs and correspondence to forward to hiring managers in respect of suitable applicants in a standardised format.
  • Providing market intelligence surrounding market rates and packages for similar positions in the form of a quarterly benchmarking report and as part of establishing the hiring manager’s ‘criteria for hire’ pack.
  • Record and report diversity KPI’s to the Head of HR for measurement against group Corporate & Social Responsibility objectives.
  • Maintain all candidate data in accordance with the group data protection policies.
  • Be proactive and reactive to Linbrooke Services Limited’s resourcing requirements

Development Training:

  • Schedule and deliver regular recorded meetings with timescale actions as outputs with the business directors and / or their nominees to focus on the identification and cost effective delivery of rail business development training needs
  • Work with the ntrs training team in order to identify, specify and develop to delivery rail business specific training module content
  • In liaison with the rail business directors, maintain a register of identified training needs with a prioritised list of candidates for course availability
  • Working with the ntrs training team, develop course content to accreditation status as necessary in order to meet business director’s objectives and needs recorded in a ‘course outline’.
  • Work with the ntrs Training Manager to ensure that the NTA has the resources in place in order to deliver the rail development training schedule, reviewing the readiness on behalf of the rail directors on a formalised quarterly basis
  • Own, develop, refine and maintain a ‘new candidate roll out programme’ of development training to meet business director’s objectives – likely to be regular courses over a 2 year period.
  • In close liaison with the business directors provide guidance on the importation of currently employed candidates into the programme of courses
  • Schedule, plan and manage attendance with line managers and their candidates
  • Ensure that the ntrs training team deliver complete training courses to closure with certification issued and any ongoing assessment arrangements in place either with line managers or provided by NTA resources.
  • Maintain all rail development training records on behalf of the Head of HR and ensure a seamless complete training record exists for all rail business employees and ntrs employees in close liaison with the rail resourcing team

Other general HR duties as deemed appropriate and from time to time agreed with the Head of HR

Key Communications and Working Relationships

  • Directly responsible for representing the Head of HR with business directors in the context of development training and recruitment matters
  • Direct interface with the rail business directors in the context of the delivery of development training and recruitment matters
  • Lead all dialogue with the Linbrooke Services Limited approved supply chain for staff recruitment
  • As necessary, lead all dialogue with relevant rail competence and quality accreditation bodies in association with training programme provision and management
  • Support the group compliance team at audit in the context of recruitment and development training service delivery
  • Lead the dialogue for the rail business directors with the ntrs Training Manager and team, with regard to rail utilization of the NTA and its resources
  • Work closely with the rail resourcing team to maintain a single source of accurate training records capable of meeting the competence management needs of the business

Experience:

  • A strong track record in coordination and administration within recruitment and training.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise a large volume of concurrent roles within a fast paced, deadline driven environment ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience of effective stakeholder management, building positive relationships, engaging and collaborating effectively with others for all recruitment and training needs.
  • Understanding recruitment practices and adherence to compliance and governance.
  • Understanding of employment legislation.
  • A confident and resilient approach when dealing with conflicting demands.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team, supporting and helping other colleagues when required.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of funding and apprenticeship training schemes
  • REC accredited
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in administration / coordination
