We are currently working with a major engineering contractor specializing in overhead rail electrification who are looking to recruit a Safe Systems of Work Planner (SSOW) to join their team in Coatbridge. As Safe System of Work Planner you will be responsible for ensuring project works are adequately planned and coordinated, ensuring compliance with the PDSW standards during the planning phase, applying the principles of the hierarchy of control and complying with Rule Book modules.

As Safe System of Work Planner you will be responsible for ensuring project works are adequately planned and coordinated, ensuring compliance with the PDSW standards during the planning phase, applying the principles of the hierarchy of control and complying with Rule Book modules.
As Safe Systems of Work Planner (SSOW) your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The planner shall check all completed and implemented SWPs that are returned to them.
- Measure outputs and audit feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Assist in the planning of the isolations where required through identifying and securing the required access and aligned isolation requirements.
- Complete site walkouts for site familiarity (record details) and produce and distribute SWPs in conjunction with the latest Network Rail Legislation.
Job requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of possession planning procedures, planning experience, 8 years safety critical experience, 5 years planning and experience of complex (multi-line) site layouts
- Understanding of railway access planning tools e.g. track access diagrams, quail maps, On-Trac, NESA, etc.
- Plan safe systems of work for nominated projects with appropriate safety and performance measures applied, within required timescales.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of SSOW plans.
- Produce plans compliant with operational standards, rules, and procedures.
- Understanding of NR/L2.OHS/019 Planning and Delivery Safe Work, Safety of people at work on or near the line
- Understanding of NR/L3/OHS/019-IP Planning and Delivering Safe Work, Implementation principles for infrastructure projects.
