Signalling Engineer

We are currently recruiting for Senior or Principal Signalling Engineers for our client who are a key player in the Australian Rail sector, with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

The company has shown strong growth in recent years due to their high standard of work and has been awarded contracts on some of the most exciting rail projects in Australia. Due to this growth, my client now requires a number of highly technical, motived Signalling Engineers preferrably with experience in ETCS or CTBC systems.

This role will provide leadership and expert technical advice in railway signalling. You will thrive on working in a dynamic environment, display strong stakeholder engagement and be an enthusiastic member of the team, showing willingness to mentor junior staff. The ability to work autonomously and conduct a methodical approach to work and tasks will be vital to this role’s success. Due to my client's high standard of work, they require candidates who are well-versed in both design and checking of signalling systems.

Responsibilities

• Must have profound knowledge of Computer Based Interlocking design and Signalling circuit design
• Verification and approvals of signalling design performed by others.
• Input into project management (time estimates; resource requirements, technical risks)
• Providing mentoring and leadership to less experienced engineers within the team, as well as displaying willingness to help others outside of the direct team when required
• Adept at dealing and managing key stakeholders

Required Experience

• Bachelor of Engineering (or an equivalent approved qualification)
• 8+ years engineering experience

Highly Regarded

• Australian Working Rights highly regarded but not essential as they are willing to sponsor
• Strong leadership and excellent communication skills
• Knowledge for Australian Rail Standards (Queensland Rail, ARTC, MTM Competencies highly regarded)
• IRSE Signalling Designer
• IRSE Signalling Verifier/Checker
• Experience working on the latest rail technology including ERTMS / ETCS Level 2, CBTC
