Senior Policy Officer - Greater London Authority
We are looking to recruit 2 policy officers for the Greater London Authority, the roles are explained below. Please note which role you would feel is most suited to you:
Role 1:
• Leading the GLA’s work on employment support for Londoners
o Working closely with GLA Economics, London Councils, Sub-Regional Partnerships, the Department for Work and Pensions and Jobcentre Plus, and other stakeholders to shape the Mayor’s employment support agenda.
o Providing briefings, conducting research, writing responses to Mayoral Questions, and other support relevant to the brief.
• Supporting the development of the Mayor, London Councils, Sub-Regional Partnerships and Jobcentre Plus’s No Wrong Door Programme
o Leading the development of a research specification to identify innovative changes to improve Londoners’ employment support user journeys.
• Supporting the delivery of the London Recovery Programme’s Helping Londoners into Good Work mission
o Supporting the development of our recovery mission – including writing briefings, developing content, coordinating input from colleagues across the unit to provide internal and external updates
Role 2:
• Lead comms and promo activity for publication of the Adult Education Roadmap, including:
o Organising roundtable(s) with providers and other stakeholders
o Drafting blogs based on recently published GLA commissioned research
o Drafting comms materials such as newsletter and navigating related internal sign-off process
o Support with completing internal processes relating to publication of the Roadmap, including working with the internal design team and digital team.
• Coordinate external and internal engagement to support development of the AE Marketing and Community Outreach programme
o Provide secretariat for external steering group of marketing experts in FE sector
o Organise co-design workshops with communities and VCS organisations
o Coordinate input from teams across the GLA to shape the programme
o Support scoping and development of a small grants programme to VCS organisations to increase take-up of AE in disadvantaged communities
• Support with stakeholder comms, especially to VCS and community organisations
o Drafting and sending out comms to VCS stakeholders / leading on a VCS newsletter
o Provide secretariat for a new VCS external advisory group or small providers group
o Promote results from consultation and engagement activity with stakeholders and with internal teams at the GLA
o Work with internal teams to align the Skills and Employment community engagement approach with other engagement work at the GLA
