Komplete Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Senior Signalling Engineer to take responsibility for the efficient running of the signal technical office within the engineering team.
Key Accountabilities:

Asset Maintenance and Performance.
-
Lead on the production and on-going development of an asset maintenance strategy in line with PAS55 and contribute to the implementation of the strategy.

Monitor adherence to the standards/contract and recommend changes to ensure the required performance at minimal whole life cost, ensuring all aspects of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety (RAMS) are addressed.

Provide technical advice to ensure the asset management information system is effective and efficient. Monitor performance, investigate significant failures and those requiring expert knowledge and recommend changes to assets, operations or maintenance to achieve sustained improvements.

Perform practical and theoretical analysis to discover solutions to engineering problems. Contribute to the annual maintenance and capital replacement plans.

Competence Management. Set the standards for engineering competence and contribute to the training and development of staff. Participate in the monitoring and reviewing of staff.

Continual Improvement. Investigate and review best industry practice in operations and maintenance and recommend changes to existing practice.

Assurance. Provide professional technical support and guidance to the maintenance department and the whole business. Manage compliance with stator requirements. Investigate incidents with technical aspects, in operations, maintenance and projects, produce reports and make recommendations.

Support the technical audit programme, including supplier audits as required. Contribute to the development and implementation of any assurance plans.

Set the standards for the quality and management of tools, parts and materials and for work to be undertaken on the railway.

Configuration Control. Review configuration control documentation and make approval recommendations. For maintenance works, produce or arrange for the production of information required by the configuration control procedures changes.

Recommend changes to asset maintenance, together with supporting justification. Support the maintenance managers in the productions and continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and maintenance task instructions and make approval recommendations. Issue and manage temporary instructions as required. Comment on technical aspects of project procedures. Review and support continuous improvement to standard operating procedures and other company procedures as required.
ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

A relevant engineering degree, such as Electrical Engineering, and membership of the IRSE or equivalent. Chartered Engineer.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience of railway engineering

Knowledge of railway signalling systems, associated operating procedures, systems interfaces, testing and maintenance.

Ability to produce technical reports, procedures, specifications, method statements, risk assessments and drawings.

Appropriate skills for work on safety critical systems.

Good communications skills at all levels and the ability to train and assess staff.

Confident, persuasive and professional approach.

The ability to maintain confidentiality and display tact, diplomacy and discretion at all times.

Flexibility to meet requirements of shift workers.
