Senior Temporary Works Coordinator in Derby, London- need to be willing to travel if needed, United Kingdom

ATA Rail are proud to be working in partnership with a Tier 1 Rail contractor, with an excellent reputation in the industry, to source an experienced Senior Temporary Works Coordinator for a Principle Contractor in London.

The purpose of the role is as follows;

  • To manage engineering delivery and assurance in the Rail Division Projects in accordance with the requirements of Network Rail Standard for the Engineering Management of Projects NR/L2/INI/02009 and Work Package Planning standard NR/L2/OHS/0044. As such the role is accountable for the engineering delivery and assurance of the project(s).

  • The assessment of CRE(C) from within the project team and those proposed by subcontract organisations. The role will be accountable for the project compliance with the relevant Network Rail, client and company specific engineering standards, the role will provide regular reports to the Technical Services Director on the performance of the CRE(C) and the compliance of the project team.

  • The review and acceptance of the project specific Construction Phase Plan and the Project Work Package Plans as defined in the relevant standards.

  • To undertake regular surveillance of the performance of the appointed CRE(c) to ensure their performance is in line with the requirements of the relevant standards and project specific obligations. The role will be accountable for taking the necessary actions to support CRE(C) and ensure that poor or non-compliant performance is addressed. All performance information will be relayed to the Compliance and Standards Manager as part of the ongoing review for each of the CRE(c).

  • To lead in the discussions and agreement with Network Rail on the arrangements for the management of existing assets during the works and the incorporation of the changed / new assets on completion of the project in accordance with NR/L2/EBM/089.

  • To assist the Project Team in the definition of the project Health and Safety Plan and Operation and Maintenance manual and provide the information required for the completion of these documents.

  • To ensure that the project engineering complies with the requirements of the Management System, Network Rail as identified with NR/L2/INI/02009 and the specific Client requirements detailed within the Contract. This will include the management of the engineering function for the design, implementation and hand back of the new facility and changed assets.

  • To be the primary point of contact for Network Rail in the management of the interface between the project works and the operational infrastructure and to ensure that the project works are delivered in line with Network Rail, Client and company requirements and standards.

Qualifications Needed

  • Qualified engineer and member of a professional body and Chartered Engineer.

  • Relevant Engineering Degree - Civil Engineer (or equivalent discipline).

  • Have undertaken the role of CEM on large multidisciplinary rail works for a contractor working on Network Rail infrastructure.

  • Demonstrable experience of working within a Construction environment at a senior level and has a considerable profile of working within the industry.

  • Excellent knowledge of Network Rail standards and application of them within the design and construction of a multidisciplinary scheme for a third party.

    The remuneration package for this role is as follows;

  • Salary depending on experience

  • Car or car allowance

  • 25 days’ holiday (this increases with service) +8 days’ bank holiday
