Competency & Training Managers - Rail - London
£50k-65k base plus Benefits & Bonuses Circa £5-20k

Shorterm group are working on behalf of a leading rail company to recruit experienced Training and Competency Managers with previous experience to undertake critical roles within technical training delivery, re-structuring of training programmes and progression of wider company training & developement plans.
The Opportunites:
We have opportunities for D32/A1 qualified indivduals with experience in either - shunter driving/panel operator training OR engineering training & programme management (Rolling Stock or Rail).
The role of Engineering Training and Competency Manager will see you directly involved with the development of courses to ensure that the needs of the company’s depot operations / rolling stock division are met. Managing and overseeing a team of technical trainers and Training Managers would be a large part of the role and we are looking for real 'change makers' that can overhaul, update and refresh current training and development procedures.
The role of the Depot Operations Training & Competency Manager will see you delivering hands on depot training to shunter drivers and panel operators as well as taking responsibility for overall improvement of depot operations and increasing efficiency and safety across all depot staff through adequate and engaging training initiatives.
Location: This position is based across the client’s London offices
Salaries:
Depot Operations Competency Manager - £45-55k basic plus benefits circa £5-10k
Rail / Rolling Stock Competency Manager - Circa £65k plus benefits circa £10-20k
Role and Responsibilities:
•Developing courses to ensure that the needs of the department are met
•Ensuring courses meet the necessary requirements for apprentices to achieve qualifications such as NVQs and City & Guilds and for employees to have sucessful personal development plans meeting the future staffing needs of the depots and wider company
•Managing Safety Critical Competency Assessment processes and refining them where needed
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have extensive training experience, ideally experience of managing a team and possess a relevant qualification in learning and development or coaching. You should have knowledge of both Health and Safety and safety critical rail standards within the rail sector.
