Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are working with a light rail operator in the North West region recruiting for several key appointments, including Heads of Department & Senior Managers.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a recruit who will come into the company and be able to provide a high standard environment both internally and externally, in terms of cleanliness, hygiene and facilities management. This will include the contract management of the cleaning contract. The cleaning of the office environment for depots ensuing that the environment is suitable for the Health and Safety conditions for staff. The S&P Manager will also ensure that all small works are undertaken in a timely manner with the Depots, including furniture, walls corridors and notice boards.

Role and Responsibilities:

Maintenance

  • Continuous monitoring of business and system Performance & Presentation
    • Accurate and timely approach to tasks
    • Monitor the performance against the Agreement and take early action to avoid failures
    • Ensure that minimal penalties are awarded against the contract
    • Exercise decision making authority within the parameters of the role.

    Coordination & Liaison
    • Manage, mentor and develop team members
    • Liaise on a regular basis with the Management Team and to interface with our client.
    • Develop and maintain robust, co-operative and professional relationships with employees.

    Reporting
    • Tracking achievement against Performance Payment Regime (PPR)
    • Collection/preparation of data for periodic reports and information for internal and external customers
    • Keep the Head of Service Delivery appraised of all potential risks to our clients obligations under the Agreement and provide recommendations for mitigating the risks and rectifying failures
    • Ensure the Director of Service Delivery is aware of all issues under the appropriate Line Managers obligations under the
  • Agreement and take action to ensure delivery.

    Administration
    • Use Agility software
    • Period Reporting
    • Adhere to and manage the approved budget
    • Manage a budget in line with the business governance and control processes

The Candidate

  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written
    • Be a self-motivator and be able to prioritise his/her workload and work under own initiative
    • Must have experience of managing an outsourced contract & managing a team
    • Have an understanding of the transport industry
    • Experience of facilities management including all internal furniture, telecoms cleaning, environmental issues
    • Station Accreditation
    • Managing a network and managing stakeholders such as Local Councils
    • Meets time commitments and deadlines or negotiates accordingly
    • Experience of implementing a range of change management and process improvement activities
    • Able to develop and implement goals and strategies based on broader goals.
