Trackway Expert - Egypt High Speed Rail

The market leading infrastructure recruitment specialists are supporting a leading European consultancy and are requiring a Trackway Expert for the Egypt High-Speed Rail

Mission:

• Design/lead permanent way solutions for high-speed rail engineering and construction projects, in accordance with client requirements
• Act as design deliverables checker and Track CRE on specific projects, as directed by the Track Team Leader
• Review technical notes, estimates, track alignment design parameters and construction drawings
• Review technical requirements and specifications of all components of tracks (rails, fastenings, sleepers, under sleeper pads, ballast, including turnouts and Rail Expansion Devices)
• Review technical requirements and specifications plans and drawings for Turnouts and Rail Expansion Devices
• Review technical requirement, specifications, plans and drawings for Continuous welded Rail including all related techniques for site implementation.
• Review technical requirement and specifications for all mechanised machines for track laying (track laying and tamper machines)
• Perform site supervision activities and control measures during trackwork implementation
• Undertake site track condition surveys and reports, including logistics implementation conditions
• Supervise topographic survey required for track laying activities
• Manage interface issue resolution with other disciplines
• Undertake material acceptance checking
• Perform monitoring and reporting during testing and commissioning activities
• Manage other members of the Track Team, undertake development reviews, provide mentorship to assist their development, and to enhance the skills within the Track Team to meet business objectives
• Lead projects and provide task guidance and monitoring of performance
• Provide project progress and performance reports to the Track Team Leader and Project Management Team
• Achieve the scope agreed with the Track Team Leader and Project Manager to effectively deliver projects to current engineering and safety standards
• Achieve personal and project targets including utilization, delivering projects to budget and programme
• Promote and maintain good relationships with all internal and external parties to enhance the reputation of the Track Team and the company

Requirements for the role are:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil engineer (e.g., Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, etc.)
• Proficient experience in topographic survey for track laying
• Proficient at permanent way engineering alignment design and track component specifications
• Proficient knowledge of railway application norms and codes in high speed railway domain (EN, UIC, TSI, etc.)
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers
• Have a minimum 15 years' experience in the railway industry especially with a High Speed experience
