Trainer/Assessor - Colchester
TES Training are looking for a Rail Trainer/Assessor. Applicants to the role will need to be passionate and motivated to deliver quality training and/or assessments in line with policies and regulations.
One of the key responsibilities of the role is the delivery of training, supporting learners in the completion of NVQs and Apprenticeship Standards within Rail Engineering (up to level 3).
Key responsibilities:
• Delivery quality training courses and assessments in line with Sentinel Rules, RTAS Rules, Network Rail Company and line standards and Railway Group Standards
• Ensure course plans are updated and used in accordance with the Quality Management System
• Produce training course and assessment literature and TES Handouts as required
• Ensure adhered to safety critical work regulations
• Ensure all training and assessments are carried out in a safe manner and that adequate risk assessments have been carried out on both environment and equipment
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of legislation and changes assessing training/assessing matter and delivery
• Maintain records of training and assessments and ensure all information is given to the Training Administrator.
• Provide technical advice and support to the Training Team and Operations Department
• Ensure Continuing professional development (CPD) is maintained, and folder is kept up to date
• Carry out operational duties as required to maintain competence
• Participation in external quality assurance activities including audits, assessments, and inspections
Essential skills and qualifications required:
• Sentinel Competencies – PTS (DCCR), IWA, COSS, PS, TR00 and OLEC 1
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths
• Level 3 QCF Award in “Assessing in the Workplace” (or equivalent)
• Level 4 QCF Award in Internal Quality Assurance (or equivalent)
• Recognised qualification in training delivery
• Experience of being an NSAR Approved Assessor/Trainer
• Ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners from all backgrounds and abilities
• Experience of working with computers, including with Microsoft Office
• High degree of integrity
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive data
• A positive, flexible, proactive and can-do approach to all elements of work
• Able to work under pressure
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to travel and work away to meet the needs of the business
• Willingness to participate in continual CPD
• Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable skills and qualifications:
• Sentinel Competencies – PS, PICOP, SPICOP
