£32.01 per hour paid Umbrella PAYE

Although its described as a Principal Transport Planner post, I would also consider recruiting to the post at a Senior Transport Planner level, as we have historically struggled to find candidates with the right skillset for a Principal level appointment. So someone with a little less experience and a lower rate could be considered.

Key projects that they would be involved in:

• Part of a project team working on the Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE) in conjunction with TfL. Also considering access to stations by different modes and associated public realm.
• Lewisham Interchange - working closely with BLE team and Network Rail on the development of this project, which has been identified as one of four strategic interchanges in London.
• Completing the Councils Rail Vision and getting this approved, and progressing the projects contained within it in liaison with TfL and Network Rail
• Bus planning - liaising with TfL in relation to network development, bus priority schemes etc
• Attending the Council's Public Transport Liaison meeting to liaise with Members, stakeholders and the public

Key experience / attributes:

• Experience in developing transport strategies and projects from conception through to prelim design in particular
• Experience liaising with a variety of stakeholders on complex major projects, including agreeing shared objectives
• Experience in a range of schemes, ideally including public transport projects, interchanges, highway corridors and public realm
• Local authority experience preferred
• A strong project manager: organised, confident, driven and energetic; a strategic thinker, able to create innovative solutions and engage with and influence others.
