Main Purpose
We offer a variety of enabling works including Brush cutting, hedge trimming, clearing debris from Bridge bearings, removal of advertisement hoardings, CCTV, brickwork removal/reinstatement, fence removal/reinstatement, debris removal and pigeon netting removal/reinstatement.
The Works Coordinator will coordinate and facilitate communication and understanding of the work requirements. Reporting to the Enabling Works Manager, supporting them accordingly to ensure the achievement of projects objectives and milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that safety is always the priority, promote safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with Key Processes and Safety Responsibility Matrix.
- Undertake the role of Nominated CRE (Operations) (where appointed).
- Ensure that the programming and planning of the work is done in accordance with project requirements, including the development of a baseline plan.
- Work closely with the planning team to ensure that work is planned to optimise the use of available resources and ensure that all SSOW documentation, track access and safety-critical resource requirements are in place to deliver the programme. Regularly attending planning meetings for all regions within your area.
- Undertake the role of Responsible Manager to ensure that the appropriate Safe System of Work (SSOW) is implemented
- Make arrangements for all plant and equipment necessary to undertake the works, i.e. TM arrangements, MEWP/RRV provision, Scaffold, Pontoon etc.
- Support and advise the Commercial Manager on workbank change and compensation events.
- Maintain regular liaison with all key stakeholders on project progress, conducting regular programme reviews with the project teams.
- Undertake a people manager role, ensuring works supervisors are highly engaged and receive the necessary support and development. Ensure annual appraisals are undertaken in a timely manner to include SMART business and career development objectives.
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Have proven ability to work in a team environment with a dedicated approach to motivating and developing an examination team.
- At least 5years experience in a similar industry, specifically managing individuals and small/medium sized work teams.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of the key operational processes.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- IT Literate (Microsoft Office).
- Personal Track Safety (PTS)
- COSS
