A leading UK Rail Engineering organisation have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced P-Way Principle Technical Officer, to join their project team who is heavily engaged the technical delivery of P-way related renewals, enhancements and developments programmes to be carried out in the Midlands.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Management team, you the Principle Technical Officer will be responsible for managing the affective design review, planning and engineering delivery activities for all related P-Way works involved within the lengthy programme.

As the P-Way Principle Technical Officer, you will be the strong technical lead and therefore accountable for identifying and resolving technical issues, reading and interpreting P-Way and other related engineering drawings to be able to effectively create credible scoping plans and delivery actions to work towards. You will be accountable for accepting design documentations whilst assessing what engineering techniques need to be utilised.

Being the P-Way Principle Technical Officer, you will manage the carrying out track surveys, conduct close liaison with the client representatives, produce and review method statements, RFI s and Risk Assessments and monitor QA and health and safety.

It will be paramount that you will be present in all progress meetings and collaboratively contribute to project production plans and progress reports.

Requirements:

  • It is envisaged that the successful P-Way Principle Technical Officer will be adequately qualified within a Civils Engineering or related Rail Engineering discipline and possess a strong work history in successfully and effectively delivering Track / P-Way renewals, installation and development projects from end to end.
  • You will be adept in the reading and interpretation of Track Design Drawings and surveying / setting out equipment and techniques, Stressing and Tamping, checking quality and ensuring that the laid down systems and processes are followed and complied with.
  • Will also possess a strong working appreciation and knowledge for Track / P-Way and Track Asset renewals, gained within the NWR infrastructure, with strong understanding of related policies and procedures.
