Job Summary
- Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team
- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
- Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Prepares technical specification sections.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
- Produce Signalling design as required, confirming that it meets the requirements given in the scope of works and that the operational, technical and safety principles have been met
- Undertake the role of Lead Engineer on allocated projects
- Provide support and guidance to less experienced team members
- Contribute to the preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for Signalling projects
- Monitor own performance and the progress of own work ensuring that potential variations are highlighted and appropriately managed
- Contribute to the planning, programming and monitoring of resources to meet programme and budget requirements and targets
- Perform duties as directed by Management from time to time in connection with Signalling design activities
- Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM and CSM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation and Company procedures
Specific Skills Required:
- Experience in the use of Microstation CAD
- Experience in signalling site surveys and correlation
- Experience and application of signalling principles
Minimum Requirements
- Demonstrably proficient in Signalling Principles design role
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or Relevant HND or HNC
- IRSE Signalling Designer Licence at Principles Level.
