Dimensions
Managing a team of Team leaders to ensure employees and temporary labour are achieving daily targets in line with customer specification and Quality standards without fail. This role is also expected to consider the forward planning elements of production and work with the General Manager to ensure a proactive strategic plan is in place including, but not exclusive to, Capacity, Utilisation, Manning, Health & Safety, Costs and Total Quality Management. During all your activities align your working style and behaviour to the Company value system as detailed below and in the Company Handbook.

Oversee and take responsibility for the production process within your defined areas.
Ensure production deadlines are met on time and in full and you understand the capacity and utilisation data for all Production areas.
Liaise with the General Manager to implement new projects within your area of responsibility - supporting, for example, project meetings and engineering change activity.
To communicate effectively with others (including but not exclusive to); all shifts, other departments, internal and external suppliers, customers, your team and management to ensure the teams objectives are met
Ensure upcoming Production changes are communicated within your departments.
Analyse and prepare weekly production reports and submit to the General Manager within an agreed format.
Ensure adherence to targets, including budget costs, and outline KPI improvement plans with your Team leaders.
Support the Production Planning meetings and provide up to date, valid information as requested.
Ensure Total Quality Management is adhered to and Customer Standards are met for all customers.
Ensure all of your direct reports understand and take ownership for the accurate and timely completion of all documentation and your Team leaders are monitoring the records.
To manage all resources available to you to satisfy customer demands.
Ensure that you report any issues which affect business performance and work to minimise/eliminate the risks of recurrence.
Be flexible to support other departments and carry out reasonable tasks as requested by your Manager in line with Department/Company objectives.
People
Achieve Maximum efficiency of operation by the team and the development of a multi skilled approach for task rotation.
Co-ordinate all resource requirements with the HR BP, including temporary labour, ensuring appropriate cover and competency including holiday periods.
Maintain individual skills and up to date knowledge of the latest production concepts. Ensure your direct reports are trained and develop their knowledge of all appropriate production requirements on an on-going basis.
Work and communicate effectively with your Team leaders and other Production Managers to ensure daily target output is achieved.
Ensure team members are motivated and able to work to full capacity, having the correct tools and supplies required to perform their roles.
Effectively performance manage your direct reports, setting clearly defined objectives (PDPs) and follow correct discipline measures where required.
Ensure all team members have received the correct and appropriate training for their role including coaching and developing Team leaders.
Ensure your Team leaders are holding team briefs, 1-2-1s and PDP meetings as required and communicating all necessary information to their teams.
Ensure that all new team members receive a robust induction, following process and with all necessary documentation completed on time and in full.
Manage attendance and timekeeping for your direct reports, including back to work meetings and address any issues appropriately and in line with Company Policy.
Ensure the Training records and Training Matrix are kept up to date and that operators are trained using the Standard Operating Procedures.
Attend a monthly 1-to-1 with the General Manager and hold constructive monthly 1:1 meeting with your direct reports.
Be flexible with working hours if requested by the General Manager in order to meet customer demand.
Review production times and ensure that any performance issues are being managed within your team.
Control and review identified KPI including (but not exclusive to) Labour, Wastage, Over Processing, On Time, Downtime and OEE. Ensure processes are cost effective.
Monitor and control overtime levels to ensure Working Time Directive requirements are met and costs are kept to a minimum.
Ensure all PPE requirements are adhered to at all times and any breaches are addressed with immediate effect.
Continually improve the site safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee attitude towards safety.
Ensure that all employees have attended the appropriate training for both environmental and Health & Safety to ensure they have an understanding of the chemicals we use, the controls in place for the usage, storage and disposal of these chemicals, spillage procedure and emissions policies.
Audit the work area for your team, ensuring that all work areas are kept clean and tidy at all times. Adhere to and drive the standards of the 5s housekeeping audit, therefore minimising risk to products and employees.

Overtime/Scrap expenditure not to exceed agreed targets.
