We are looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to join our planning team. The role is to be responsible for the planning of the production fo all orderd through the company. This is a complex production environmment, so we need someone who is used to the challenges of planning for such enviornments to meet demands. This is an exciting and a rewarding role, you will be interacting with a variety of departments and managing processes that are key to the success of our business.

Primary functions
Chairing a daily meeting with production, procurement, design and commercial to review jobs completed
Planning for all upcoming jobs
Running the planning board (a large T Card board containing all orders)
Planning the production of all machines/Shops
Working closely with th workshop managers to set the plan and manage the manpower requirements
Working closely with the procurement to ensure materials are available for production
Plan the shops capacity and land/storage availability
planning of new orders and risk identification/resolution
Ensuring that the production and buying teams are informed on any changes to production plans
Long and short-term production and capacity planning
work closely with the commercial, production and buying teams to ensure that all orders are met.

Responsibilities
Identify appropriate solutions to scheduling problems
Ensure that production targets are achievable and hit
Escalate any issues to the relevant stakeholders and ensuring resolutions for these
Investigate production problems, analyse root causes and provide solutions
adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives

Essential Skills

Extensive experience of planning within a manufacturing/ engineering environment
Able to work under pressure and meet timely deadlines
Self motivated with strong organisational skills and ability to priorities workloads
Excellent communication and organisations skills and ability to prioritise workloads
Excellent communication and organisation
Good IT skills and a good working knowledge of MS Excel
Ideally educated to degree level or equilvalent
Numerate and analytical in approach with attention to detail
