Samuel Knight is working in partnership with a global provider of total railway and Rolling Stock solutions to recruit a Production Scheduler. This global organisation is leading the largest rail modernisation project in UK history.

The Position – Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler will be working n a shift basis as part of the Train Maintenance Centres based in London or Bristol area. You will develop and deliver the operational maintenance schedules with the necessary information to allow the effective and efficient execution of rolling stock maintenance.

Responsibilities - Production Scheduler

• Develop and continually refine the maintenance schedule for the fleets.
• Identify, prioritise and schedule maintenance tasks in accordance with the maintenance plan
• Forecast the work hours available for each individual and team and determine overall TMC capacity
• Schedule work for every available hour against: trade; skill level; number of personnel; and duration of task.
• Liaise with Engineering and Supply Chain departments to identify, coordinate and leverage resources to enable the maintenance schedule including the technical information required.
• Coordinate the work of contractors and external repair agencies into the maintenance schedule.
• Manage costs through the effective and efficient alignment of resources.
• Liaise with Planners in the Central Planning Cell (CPC); the Duty Shift Manager (DSM) and Team Leaders (TL) to agree the maintenance plan to be executed.
• Liaise with Operations Support and Engineering staff in order to incorporate overhauls and technical investigations into the maintenance schedule.
• Utilise the SAP Maintenance Management System (MMS) and other IT applications in order to inform and develop the maintenance schedule.

Qualifications

Experience in railway operations and rolling stock maintenance.

Experienced in scheduling maintenance and production.

Experience of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) - SAP, Maximo or Equinox.
