Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Controls Manager to work across several projects within Panel North in our Major Project division.
This role will involve:
Team Management/Support
- Support other members of the project controls team.
- Participate in regular functional meetings and reviews.
Project Control
- Participate and provide information as required for Level of Project Control (LOPC) Assessments to be undertaken on projects to which you are assigned.
- Participate in regular risk reviews and provide programme information for inclusion in risk registers.
- Assist in the production of Project Control Checklists for all projects to which you are assigned.
- Assist in the application and maintenance of scope management controls
- Comply with the change management approach established on projects to which you are assigned
- Assist in the budget loading of all projects to which you are assigned
Schedule Management
- Assist in the production of project specific Control Management Plans as required for approval by the Project Controls Manager.
- Assist in the Production of periodic Schedule Adherence Reports for review by the business unit Project Controls Manager.
- Collate schedule data for KPI/NPM Submissions
Project/Business Support
- Assist in the production of all project control information required for project reviews and other internal requirements.
- Provide the project teams with project control and trend information to allow them to make informed and timely decisions
- Collate and/or generate progress performance metrics
- Generate trend analysis and improvement plans/evidence
- Ensure compliance with business specific document control requirements.
- Provide support to the Project Controls Manager in the development of Digital Reporting and introduction of new software solution
- Interface with commercial & finance teams to ensure integration of schedule and cost measures
Client/3rd Party Interfaces
- Ensure all 3rd party interfaces, assumptions and risk are identified and communicated accordingly.
- Ensure that subcontractors comply with their reporting obligations and that they are sufficient to accurately update the project plan.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude toward clients in all circumstances and do not agree anything outside current contractual scope without agreement from the relevant Project Manager.
- Alert your Line Manager whenever you become aware of any issue that may affect the business in a safety, commercial, environmental or legal context.
Job Requirements
You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of managing fluctuating workloads, working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and working off your own initiative. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
To be considered for this role you must have:
- A-Level education.
- An Engineering Qualification (HNC) or above would be a distinct advantage
- Proven experience of Microsoft software packages.
- Experience of Primavera and Power BI would be advantageous
- At least 2 years experience in project delivery or consultancy role
- A working knowledge of Programming/Planning, Schedule management, Risk management and cost control
- UK Driving licence
