Assistant Project Manager with Rail Civil Engineering (Main Contractor) in North Lanarkshire, United Kingdom
North Lanarkshire, United Kingdom |
£30000 - £40000 per annum |
Permanent
This role is for someone who has already started on their career path to become a Rail Project Manager for a major contractor, i.e. youve gained some experience as an Assistant project manager, on rail civil engineering projects. Consequently, you can already assist with the co-ordination of projects, resource management, working on rotas, logistics, certification of the workforce.
It's critical you can work on reports, and producing the data required for major railway activities, with a head for the commercial realities of railway engineering.
Working with a Project Manager, clearly this role will prepare you for your own projects as Rail Project Manager, and it should therefore be seen a transitional role in due course. Your background could be from Rail Permanent Way, Railway Signalling, OLE and Electrification, or Rail Civil Engineering, bridges, structures stations and the like.
Alas, this isnt for someone who wants to get into project management, but I would be interested to hear from those permanent candidates, who have most of the skills and experience, from perhaps a smaller contractor. A strong APM, with a civils background could perhaps make the switch if they have had some Rail exposure.
