Our client has secured a seven-year contract to be the Development Partner for rail services in Wales. We are transforming the rail services across the Core Valley Lines. This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager to join the team, working on an exciting and complex multi-disciplinary project for the design development stage.

What will this role involve?

Support the Project Manager and other team members in undertaking a wide range of project

delivery tasks including:

• Outline cost estimating and management and monitoring of project budgets
• Project planning, programming, cost control and administration
• Attend meetings with the Client and other project related organisations
• Maintain high technical standards, consistent with the project brief and compliance
• Implement quality improvements when opportunities arise

There will be a requirement to visit to clients, suppliers and third parties. The position is office based from either Cardiff or Bristol with flexible working arrangements to maintain a healthy work life balance.

• Proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadline
• Good financial and commercial awareness

Qualifications:

• Membership of a relevant professional body
• Part way through or recently completed the necessary training requirements for the above professional qualification

Skills

• The jobholder should be computer literate and thoroughly conversant with MS office suite and experienced in the use of PM management software, MS Project, Primavera, etc. Knowledge of progression Financial Management System is an advantage

Experience

• Experience in the management of design projects for consultants
• Good financial and commercial awareness
• Previous engineering experience is desirable
