Who are we?

CBGU JV brings together partners CPB Contractors, BAM, Ghella and UGL to deliver the Tunnels and Stations package for Brisbane’s Cross River Rail. Cross River Rail is a 10.2 kilometre rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, including 5.9 kilometres of tunnel under the Brisbane River and CBD. The project also includes construction of four new high-capacity underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street station.

About the opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer (Electrical, or Communications & Controls) to join our M&E, JV team in the sunny city of Brisbane.

In this role you will be providing engineering expertise with the installation of all Network Communications and Infrastructure on the Cross River Rail – Tunnels & Stations Project.

Experience with procurement, installation, and commissioning of any of the following systems highly desirable – ICT, Fibre, PA, CCTV, Coaxial, Wireless (GWN, Mobiles, Radio, signalling).

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • The preparation of site installation Workpacks, in accordance with the project specifications and design
  • Actively liaising with vendors supplying assets and products
  • Subcontractor management
  • Assist installation teams with site queries and raise RFI’s to design team as required
  • Management of correspondence, as directed by the Senior Project Engineers and Project Manager
  • Ensure compliance with all QA and reporting processes
  • Review and monitor construction progress against program and budget
  • Undertake any ad-hoc initiatives and tasks, as directed by PM

Minimum requirements for this role include the following:

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical, Communications, Instrumentation (or similar)
  • Experience in liaising with multi-disciplined stakeholders simultaneously
  • Effective leadership skills in managing relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers to successfully deliver project outcomes.
  • Industry experience in infrastructure projects – Road or Rail (desirable)
  • Experience with onsite supervision of labour (desirable)
