My client is a leading national infrastructure group working across the United Kingdom within rail, highways, utilities & environmental engineering.

They have secured a major rail project based in South Wales. The scope of works is to deliver a rail depot, valued at circa £100.M.

As a result, an opportunity has arisen for a Contractors Engineering Manager (CEM) / Designated Project Engineer (DPE) to oversee all aspects of engineering on this project. The major focus of works will be civil related. However, there will also be elements of OHLE, power, signalling, telecoms & P-Way. Therefore, the client requires an experienced rail engineering professional, able to call upon comprehensive experience across all the aforementioned disciplines.

The successful applicant will play a key role within the senior project delivery team, responsible for the technical & engineering management, supervision of the engineering team, managing engineering methodology, design management, liaising with delivery partners and stakeholders, leading engineering and design meetings/reviews, responsibility for engineering documentation approval /management.

Candidate Requirements:

• BSc Hons – Civil Engineering
• Able to demonstrate a proven background within of delivering technically challenging civil engineering works within a rail environment
• Previous experience of carrying out Contractors Engineering Manager / Designated Project Engineer roles within a major project environment
• Comprehensive understand of NR/TFW technical standards and client requirements
• Detailed understand of design management, value engineering, QA/QC, project delivery
