Samuel Knight Rail are currently recruiting for an Assistant Contract Manager to join the prestigious mega-project; High Speed 2.

We are working closely with one of the principal delivery partners and are seeking to hire this position. The successful candidate will be paid on a PAYE basis at a rate of between £180 & 190 per day.

This project will bring high speed rail to the UK and is the focus of engineering enthusiasts around the world, as a successful candidate you will be supporting the creation of a new railway linking London with the North of England and fundamentally changing British infrastructure.

As an Assistant Contract Manager you will support the Contract Manager in developing and then delivering the specification created by HS2 Engineers. As part of this, you will be expected to help with the following duties on a daily basis:

• Assist and administer the delivering contract with HS2's delivery partner.
• Oversee the administration aspect of technical services to ensure contract admin complies with the statutory requirements
• Ensure a commercial approach is applied to deliver value for money and consistency across all HS2 documentation
• Review contracts and processes continually to ensure that financial and contract authorities have been obtained in accordance with authorities
• Provide information for the project leadership team
• Assist procurement to provide specialist guidance and enable the implementation of policy , projects and change initiatives

In selection of a successful candidate, our client will be seeking the following attributes:

• Experience of assisting an employer under an NEC3 for of contract
• Experience working in an assistant contract management role using the NEC3 form of contract
• Strong analytical, commercial and negotiating skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
