Head of HSE in south yorkshire, United Kingdom
My client, an industry leading tier 1 contractor is looking for an established Head of HSE to join their Rail team based in the North East.

Candidate responsibilities:
- Provide advice, support and direction to all project HSES teams to enable them to support their project teams to deliver Zero Harm, in a coherent and coordinated manner
- Undertake Health and Safety compliance evaluations, tours and audits as required and to ensure sufficient assurance of project activities
- In conjunction with Executive General Managers / Managing Directors / Directors, carry out project and business sector HSE performance reviews and reporting using lagging and leading indicators
- Work with the HSES Director, to develop and ensure the delivery of the Rail HSES Strategy
- Review and investigate accidents, incidents and near miss events in accordance with my client's standards to identify and effectively share lessons learned
- Ensure actions and recommendations are tracked and the SIER process is applied
- Ensure HSE, Customer and my clients accident reporting requirements are fulfilled
- Monitor, collate and interpret health and safety performance data including close out of inspection and accident investigation reports, and provide management reports on a routine basis
Candidate requirements:
- NEBOSH Diploma or NCRQ qualification
- Must have detailed, technical knowledge and experience Health and safety legislation, regulations and guidance
- Utilities and/or Construction industry experience and in particular CDM
- Experience of working in Major Infrastructure Projects
- Must have prior experience of providing leadership and support to operational and functional teams and of working at a senior level
