We now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of HSQE to join us and support our continued business growth.
Your new role will include the following responsibilities:
- Initiate, promote, support and audit standards of compliance in accordance with Sentinel / NWR / RISQS Core Audit requirements for the Redstone Group.
- Adhere to NWR Company and Line Standards and RSSB Railway Group Standards.
- Meet client, business and statutory objectives.
- Lead and develop the Compliance team to ensure all HSQE standards are adhered to.
- Lead and champion the behavioural and cultural responsibilities throughout the business on all HSQE matters.
- Be visible on site and conduct regular site inspections.
- Lead and resolve all HSQE investigations.
- Liaise and build relationships with all HSQE client representatives within the Redstone Group.
- Maintain effective liaison with all Redstone Group employees.
- Undertake audits as required by the business.
- Develop effective management systems for the business to meet statutory, award and professional body requirements.
- Maintain effective cost control within the scope of your responsibilities.
- Actively promote the equality, diversity and inclusion policy.
- Assist in the HSQE training of Redstone Group employees.
- Assist in the planning, organising and leadership of HSQE responsibilities.
- Carry out regular reviews to ensure HSQE objectives are being successfully met.
- Assist in the preparation and carrying out of presentations as required.
- Build and develop strong working relationships with key decision makers within client organisations.
- Be responsible for the reporting of RIDDOR.
For such a high profile role, applicants must have:
- IOSH
- NEBOSH
- The necessary certification/qualification in the safety, technical, soft skills, health and safety disciplines where required to design and deliver training, assess candidate performance and quality assure training and assessment outcomes.
- The required level of management, supervisory, engineering and health and safety knowledge as required by the Company and job requirements.
- 10 years Rail safety experience
- Previous experience and held the role of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Manager.
- Good level of awareness of industry specific safety regulations and issues.
- Experience in delivering quality and audit regimes to evaluate best practice and continually promote continuous improvement within the business.
- Knowledge of educational and professional body requirements for learning and development in the rail industry.
- Knowledge of RISQS Core requirements, Sentinel Scheme Rules and QUENSH, NWR and Rail Industry standards and legislation.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Be an effective communicator with sound interpersonal skills.
- Be an effective team player.
