JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective
The Head of Project Management is a member of the Management Team and ensures flawless execution of all projects from cradle to grave within budget.

Essential Functions

1.Management of project activities and governance to drive team effectiveness, on time delivery to cost and quality and promote best practices in a safe environment for employees.
2.Lead the commercial activities with the customer including the calculation of sales price and associated terms and conditions
3.Ensure efficient and effective level of communication and reporting with both customers and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and correct priorities are maintained.
4.Ensure an effective risk and opportunity mechanism is in place which is monitored with risks mitigated and opportunities maximized
5.Launching all new projects through stages 0 (bid) and 1 (pre-delivery) with the support of the team.
6.All bids and estimates including variation orders.
7.Defining and agreeing a material forecast with customer procurement and engineering for project administrators to import into the ERP system to generate MRP.
8.Project governance and dashboards including risk and opportunity management, lessons learned and BoM cost tracking with the key stakeholders.
9.Processes and procedures related to project management with strong focus on start-up projects rather than business as usual.
10.Tools such as, but not limited to: project dashboard, BoMinator, boardroom boards, bid book, tracker schedules, project sales; material and hours forecast, engineering delivery plans, initial delivery plan, customer A&D and harmonisation, shortage reports and inventory planning.
11.Training and development of project managers and roles with similar progression routes.
12.Responding to customer queries, escalation and complaints and leading reviews with the relevant stakeholders to ensure the organisations are aligned.
13.Drive out single points of failure out of the business by encouraging cross-pollination of roles and building in redundancy into any tools and processes throughout the PMO and PM teams.
14.Engineering change prioritisation and costs both internal and external.
15.Enable success factors to be repeated across all projects and for best practices to be standardised and shared.
16.Generate sales forecasts and coordinate with Finance to produce budgets.
17.Any other business needs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, minimum 37 hours/week position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 07:20 to 15:50 and Friday 07:20 to 12:20 but flexibility in hours is allowed in order to meet business requirements.

Travel
Travel will be necessary in line with operational requirements.
