About The Role
We have a very exciting opportunity for an Installer to join our global optical networks division. Working with world-class clients you will be a part of the team delivering next-generation upgrades and modifications to enhance technology and connectivity of communications networks across the globe.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As part of your day to day role, you are responsible for the following:
- To assist with the installation of telecoms equipment, including minor DC power work, in equipment rooms or out on site in accordance with the design documentation provided within the scope of the skills and training received.
- To assist other engineers where and when appropriate, ensuring compliance and adherence with policies and procedures
- To take full responsibility for the complete installation and test where required, including ensuring all documentation is completed, including any changes or amendments to the site documents.
- The Installer must be able to work unsupervised when required, maintain quality standards throughout within the budgeted time allocated.
- The Installer will need to report progress and issues affecting the work.
- The Installer is responsible for ensuring all equipment issued is kept in good working order maintaining calibration and test date.
- Carry out any other duties which your Line Manager may reasonably request within the broad parameters of your role.
- Carry out all work in accordance with the company Quality procedures
- Provide daily reports to the project engineering team
- Work safely at all times in accordance with the company’s Health and Safety Arrangements.

Essential Attributes & Skills
- Engineering qualification Telecommunications/Electronics/Electrical
- Optical products technical training on SDH & DWDM
- Hands on experience of installation and commissioning on SDH & DWDM
- Hands on experience of Optical Network Integration
- Working at Height Theory & Awareness Training
Desirable Attributes & Skills
- 2 years’ experience of working as a technical support engineer for optical products
- Excellent communication skills
- Good technical background with a solid understanding of DWDM, SDH, IP
