We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent MS Projects - Assistant Project Manager to join our CAFA in York – Hybrid working
The Civils Assessment Framework Agreement (CAFA) team comprises approximately 60 Engineers and Technicians at all levels. Our core work is producing the technical assessments for a wide array of railway bridges and structures across the UK, for clients such as Network Rail, Transport for Wales and Local Authorities. Our experienced engineers use a range of design tools to ensure we deliver consistent assessment results to our clients, including 3D CAD, structural analysis and Finite Element modelling systems such as Archie-M, Limit State Ring, SuperSTRESS, STAAD Pro and Lusas. As part of the assessment process, we also plan and undertake the initial inspections of these structures, using a variety of specialist access techniques, from confined spaces to rope access, and new technologies such as 3D laser scanning, 360° cameras and aerial drones to collect all the information required to complete a full structural analysis.
MS Projects - Assistant Project Manager plays an important part in the management and delivery of allocated contracts safely in accordance with legislation and Amey procedures to contract specification and programme, while building and sustaining long term customer relationships.
The standard hours of work are full time – 37.5 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:
- To assist with promoting safe working practices, ensure full implementation and compliance with safety responsibilities.
- Compile MS Project programmes to monitor delivery and cost KPIs.
- Maintain MS Project programmes for reporting internally and externally.
- Maintain accurate records for change management in MS Project.
- Assist with forecasting and monitoring the financial performance of the project for Amey, giving regular reports, comparing actual and forecast performance to plan expectations and explaining variations
- Assist with allocating contracts and reviewing on a weekly basis.
- To support the tender processes as required.
- Assist with the management of quality, programme, cost and project contribution on the project for the Company.
- The position is office based, but may require visits to clients, suppliers, third parties and work sites.
We want to hear from you if you are/have:
- Proficient in MS Project
- Good understanding of schedule baseline and management.
- Knowledge of change control procedures.
- Knowledge of schedule baseline and management.
- Knowledge of resource management.
Ideally you will be member of APM, or equivalent or working towards, with Understanding of the Rail Operating Environment and Knowledge of the production of contract specific deliverables to programme, budget and quality.
