Maintenance Manager - Metro Project

EWI are supporting a Leading international engineering firm who are requiring a Maintenance Manager for a metro project in APAC Region

Responsibilities:

• Update maintenance plan to accommodate design changes and requirements.
• Collaborate with Sub Systems teams to create O&M manuals and training materials.
• Assist in identifying spare parts and consumables lists.
• Support subsystems during testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Aid in the renegotiation of the maintenance contract.
• Ensure the Asset Management/MMS System is prepared for handover.
• Identify maintenance resources for transitioning from construction to operation.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
• Assist in recruiting O&M Staff.
• Develop and implement an efficient maintenance plan.
• Supervise maintenance teams, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Support staff and team development.
• Develop maintenance documents and operational procedures.
• Manage depot special tools and equipment.
• Lead the Maximo maintenance management system development.
• Build and mentor a core maintenance team.
• Manage materials and stores.
• Implement Lean principles and continuous improvement.
• Ensure contractual requirements for availability are met.
• Oversee safety and environmental practices.
• Handle recruitment and staff development.
• Identify and mitigate hazards.
• Perform maintenance checks and assessments.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of railway maintenance team leadership.
• Experience in modern rolling stock, track, and railway assets.
• Strong safety awareness and relevant training.
• Management experience with technical teams.
• Experience in staff development and mentoring.
• Rolling stock testing and commissioning experience.
• Preventative and corrective railway asset maintenance expertise.
• Knowledge of Maintenance and Specified area protection processes.
• Manual Handling and COSHH certificates.
• Proficiency in modern maintenance management systems, preferably IBM Maximo.
• Mechanical/Electrical Degree or equivalent with hands-on railway experience.
• Certified Trainer/Competence Assessor.
• Strong knowledge of rules and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Calm, diplomatic, and committed under pressure.
• Intermediate to advanced IT skills.
• Familiarity with powered plant and tools, depot protection, and working at heights.
