TXM Recruit are looking for a New Trains Assistant Project Manager on a 12 - 14 month FTC basis for a large Train Operating Company in Derby.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of New Trains, the New Trains Assistant Project Manager supports the Head of New Trains and the rest of the New Trains programme team to deliver the franchise obligations.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Head of New Trains, the New Trains Assistant Project Manager supports the Head of New Trains and the rest of the New Trains programme team to deliver the franchise obligations.
Role Responsibilities:
- Overall project management support to the New Trains team
- Organisation and preparation of the programme Sharepoint site, including Communications site, working closely with IT and internal communications ensuring the business is kept up to date of the programme progress on behalf of the New Trains Team
- Organisation of programme meetings and working groups
- Lead the Programme Review meeting preparation and own the Action Tracker
- Develop MS Project programmes for the team, maintaining these as required through liaison with the team
- Develop KPIs for project reporting with the new trains team members and ensure they are up to date for periodic reporting
- Ownership of project finance administration, including liaison with suppliers, procurement and finance (including Accounts Payable) to manage contracts, purchase order and invoice administration
- Attend stakeholder meetings and take minutes
Role Requirements:
- Must be able to demonstrate good oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong Sharepoint and Excel skills
- MS Project experience is not essential but advantageous
- Demonstrably strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritise intelligently
- Demonstrable ability to take a proactive approach and take the initiative
- Project experience is advantageous
Working Conditions:
- Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week
- Hybrid working, expectation to work 3 days in the office each week
- 12 - 14 Month FTC
Salary:
- £28,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience
