TRU is a once-in-a-generation rail upgrade programme to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable rail services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull and York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds. Amey, in partnership with Arup, BAM and Network Rail is upgrading the route between Manchester and Leeds, which includes civils, track, railway systems and electrification. What is the purpose of this role?
To provide the overall Delivery Leadership for the W1/W2A Project. The position is accountable for the end to end delivery of the works, ensuring a robust Integrated Delivery schedule is produced and maintained. The position will be accountable for delivering the works to meet the strategic milestones, that timely hand-back is achieved and to help the Alliance in achieving the KRA’s/KPI’s and the wider programme benefits.
What will this role involve?
This is a direct report to the Project Director and will site within the Project Senior Leadership Team.
Functional Leads for the various functions (Track; OLE; SP&C; Civils).
To deliver to the Project Director the Works Status Reports and such other reports and data required.
Build relationships with the key suppliers and create a delivery culture of making the best decisions for the project.
To optimise through the life of the Project the size of the delivery organisation to ensure works are efficiently delivered.
Promoting the Alliance Charter, Values and Goals across the team and demonstrating commitment to all Stakeholders.
Providing career development support and mentorship to the team.
Driving a continuous improvement culture throughout delivery across the Project, challenging at all times to find a better way.
Collaborative in all environments, inspiring a team ethic and mutually beneficial goals.

What are we looking for?
Outstanding Leadership skills.
Relevant experience in the successful delivery of high value projects and complexity in the construction and/or rail industries.
Goal and Performance driven with a strong commercial focus.
Proven ability in successful outcomes in terms of Safety, Quality and sustainability.
Knowledge of the principles of Health & Safety, quality and environment legislation and best practice.
Excellent communication skills.
Leading by example, displaying enthusiasm, passion and confidence.
Desirable
Member of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or educated to degree level or equivalent.
Knowledge of/experience in the UK railway industry.
Knowledge of/experience in Alliancing and working in integrated cross company/client teams.
What makes this role unique?
You will be accountable for submitting and meeting accurate forecasts for cost and turnover achieving forecast margins for allocated contracts.
