Job Title: Project Delivery Expert - Bus Franchising Programme

Location: North West, Merseyside

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Delivery Expert to lead our Bus Franchising Programme, overseeing the mobilization and delivery of new vehicle fleets and modernization of bus depots. This programme aims to transform our bus services into electrically powered fleets, marking a significant shift in our transportation infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing this large-scale transformation project, ensuring successful delivery within budget and schedule constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

Programme Management:
Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all activities related to the Bus Franchising Programme.
Develop comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Manage project resources effectively to meet project milestones and deliverables.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, and community representatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to address concerns, gather requirements, and ensure project success.
Change Management:
Implement effective change management strategies to facilitate the transition to electrically powered bus fleets and modernized depots.
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to minimize disruptions during the transition period.
Bus Franchising Expertise:
Utilize extensive experience in bus franchising to inform decision-making and best practices throughout the programme.
Stay updated on industry trends and regulations related to bus franchising, incorporating relevant insights into project strategies.
Innovation and Accessibility:
If applicable, contribute expertise in the development of new ticket solutions on train platforms or the upgrade of stations to improve accessibility.
Drive innovation in transportation services, exploring opportunities to enhance the overall passenger experience.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in project delivery, with a track record of successfully managing large-scale transformation projects.
Strong understanding of bus franchising principles and practices, ideally with experience in the public transportation sector.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders at all levels.
Experience in change management, with the ability to navigate organizational transitions effectively.
Familiarity with electric vehicle technology and infrastructure is desirable.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
PMP or PRINCE2 certification is a plus.
