Project Engineer HV Power in England, England, United Kingdom, United Kingdom
As part of the Piccadilly line Upgrade new transformer rooms are required, three are to be housed in new buildings and the fourth is to be located within an existing central London station. The successful applicant will be responsible for two of the new transformer rooms.
The role is to manage a team of engineers from various disciplines to produce concept designs for the transformer rooms. Responsibilities will also include:
• Produce Concept Design Reports, review and coordinate drawings and concept design statements produced by the discipline engineers
• Chair weekly design coordination meetings and workshops
• Lead in the production of TfL assurance engineering deliverables
• Chair Interdisciplinary Design Reviews and liaises with operation and maintenance representatives to obtain acceptance of design proposals
• Work with other projects within PLU and other parts of TfL to determine interface solutions and produce Interface Control Documents
• Write scope documents for surveys required for designs and organise them with the Project Manager. Types of survey include hazardous materials, structural, geotechnical, tag & trace of cables etc.
• Lead workshops and production of Designers’ Risk Assessments as required under CDM.
• Produce Pre-construction Health, Safety & Environment information for Tender packages
• Produce and/or review Works Information to check it captures requirements
• Following contract award be the Contractor’s main point of contact for obtaining design acceptance and subsequent delivery of the works.
