Deliverables

Project Planning and Coordination:

• Development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Identify resource requirements and allocate them effectively to ensure project success.
• Monitor project progress and address any issues or deviations from the plan.

Electrical Engineering:

• Assist with or develop electrical designs, schematics, and layouts.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for proposed solutions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical standards, and regulations.
• Collaborate with design teams to integrate electrical systems into overall project designs.

Procurement:

• Identify and source electrical components, equipment, and materials.
• Evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate contracts.
• Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.

Installation, Testing and Commissioning:

• Develop safe system of work for installation works
• Develop test plans and procedures to verify the functionality and performance of electrical systems.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and commissioning phases.

Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Proactively manage risks throughout the project lifecycle to minimize impact on project objectives.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.
• Ensure all project documentation is organised and accessible for future reference
• Provide 1No detailed contract works inspections & physical conditions inspection for one active project under his/her control per month
• Attendance and contribution to the monthly internal projects / business meetings including efficient and timely close out of outstanding actions

Health & Safety Responsibilities

The Project Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring that:

• Business processes are followed
• The overall priority of operation is the safety of everyone involved in, or affected by, the work on site.
• All worksites are run in accordance with all relevant statutory, Company and Client requirements, safety procedures and instructions;
• The work is carried out in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
• Regular spot checks of the work being undertaken at the worksites to ensure it is done in accordance with instructions and approved risk assessments
• Actions being taken to close out any problems, issues or safety non-compliance’s found during checks and inspections or raised by the staff
• Adequate safe working systems being developed and operated.
• Ensuring that the safety and integrity of the operating railway is not jeopardised.
• Report all potential hazards and carry out remedial action to make safe in the short term
• All accidents and incidents are reported in accordance with accident reporting & investigation procedure
• Adequate instruction, training and advice is provided to employees and other contractors on site.
• The provision of the interface with the client at local level
• Regular feedback to the projects team issues arising from site to ensure the company can address matters in a timely and efficient manner

Environmental Responsibilities

• To comply with all applicable legal & other requirements and the control measures specified in the environmental aspect & impact assessments as briefed to them by their Manager.
