Project Engineer in Wales, Wales, United Kingdom, United Kingdom

PROJECT ENGINEER
South Wales

"You will be responsible for providing both Design & Construction expertise for Civil Engineering projects - seeing them through from start to finish - within the Rail industry working for a Tier 1 Contractor based in either North or Mid/South Wales."

THE COMPANY
Originally formed in Wales, the Tier 1 contractor you will be working for knows the area like the back of their hand. That tied in with the fact they have one of the best reputations in the market for Rail Civil Engineering, they have continued to win high profile work from Network Rail and will continue to do so as they target steep growth through the next 5 years into CP6. A family orientated company, you will be held in the highest regard by everyone you come across be it a Supervisor or the Head of Rail. An "everyone knows everyone" type of environment, you are sure to feel at home working with their highly knowledgeable team of Civil Engineers working to deliver projects of various disciplines with Civils & Rail across South Wales.

THE ROLE
We are currently searching for two Project Engineer’s with a background in Civil Engineering that understands both Design and Construction in great detail. The role you would be doing will be looking after Civils Schemes within the Rail industry starting from the Design phase working with the Design teams assessing buildability, quality and assurance and then taking the project through to the Construction phase out onsite managing the work and offering Engineering expertise with the added benefit of having a clear visualisation of what the end product should look like having been involved in all stages of the work. You will support both the Design & Construction teams and will offer Civils expertise to both sides in terms of A, will this design work out on site? and B, is the construction in accordance with the design? One position it to be based in North Wales whilst the other will cover Mid/South Wales.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal Project Engineer for this role is someone that has previous experience working for main contractors within the Rail Civil Engineering industry and is a fully qualified Civil Engineer however, don’t worry if you don’t have the Rail knowledge as this can be taught. It is the Civil expertise that we require primarily. We will consider someone with a HNC/HND in Civil Engineering as a minimum but having a Degree or even Chartership in Civils will be highly beneficial. You will be at a similar level to a Senior/Site Agent in terms of seniority and will be reporting into a Contracts Manager responsible for both Design & Construction.

THE PACKAGE AND HOW TO APPLY
The standard hours for the position are likely to be Monday to Friday during the daytime - it is likely there will be weekend shifts but not very often at all in reality. The rate we are looking to pay for this role is up to £350 per day but you would have to tick every single box to be considered at that level.

If you are keen to apply for the role of Project Engineer, the best way would you be to apply online here and then give Owen Hughes a call to discuss on <phone number removed> . Alternatively, you could drop me an email with your details on for a call back at <email address removed>
