Samuel Knight International are pleased to be recruiting for an experienced project engineer for our prestigious client.

We are looking for someone to join the company and manage the engineering scope or Rail projects ensuring delivery of a safe and technically compliant product in line with local processes and procedures within the QCD targets.
Responsibilities:
- Reports to the Project Manager and Engineering manager (Projects).
- Interfaces with Project Manager and helps with generation, production and update of the project engineering plans.
- Manages the DFQ implementation to acquire a GO status in accordance with project planned dates.
- Acts as the main interface with production engineering, on site on technical issues and production.
- Manages documentation in line with local procedures.
- Monitors engineering plans to make sure work is on time and to budget.
- Ensures engineering follow project procedures and processes.
- Ensures all the Engineering output meets the technical and safety requirements of the customer and relevant standards.
- Interfaces with Design Manager and assists in resolution of technical issues.
- Resolves resource issues of the project in conjunction with Engineering Manager.
- Assists tendering with design/production of work packages for similar products.
- Production of technical tenders.
- Production of engineering work packages and costs for technical tenders.
- Contributes to R&D planning and implementation.
- Contributes to local ROE / validation process to ensure ROE across projects.
- Contributes to the local improvement activities.
Education Requirements
- Experience of managing multi disciplined engineering teams to budget and also to time constraints
- Refurbishment of rail vehicle interiors
- Knowledge and understanding of railway standards
- Use and application of PC based project planning tools e.g. Microsoft Project etc.
- Customer facing role experience
- Minimum HNC in a mechanical/electrical discipline
- Membership of professional body
