We are currently recruiting for a permanent Project Engineer to support the construction teams by managing a team of technical staff in the delivery of key engineering. You will be delivering all aspects of the track project designs and supporting documentation, participating in design reviews and working with the delivery managers to tailor delivery plans that ensure key technical compliance is achieved.
What are my responsibilities?
- Manage all engineering activities so that they result in schemes that are affordable and meet programme requirements in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
- Maintain the use of relevant techniques and procedures of quantified and qualitative risk assessment and HAZOP analysis to allocated projects and manage the environmental policies
- Monitor design and specialist consultants and contractors
- Provide Project manager advice in respect of all construction activities, including testing and commissioning and site supervision. Manage design and/or construction elements including construction design management (CDM) regulations
- Undertake reviews of design and/or construction activities. Arrange audits of contractors monitoring safety, environmental and quality design, construction, testing and commissioning
- Carry out the duties of designated project engineer (DPE) for specific projects
Essential:
- Extensive experience in planning and managing the technical/engineering aspects of track renewal/enhancement projects
- Experience of setting out track renewal works
- Experience in delivering track engineering works on (Including Tamping)
- Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team
- Experience of undertaking coordinate geometry surveys, setting up control networks and processing the data in preparation for detailed design
Desirable:
- Previous use of MicroStation CAD software and Bentley Rail Track for track geometry designs
- Experience of undertaking gauging assessments using clear route
- Knowledge of track construction methods
- Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business needs
