You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor, which specialise in civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business.

The role

This is an outstanding opportunity to join an exciting organisation as it continues to grow. Having won several frameworks with Network Rail, they are looking for a Project Engineer with a strong rail background to work on a prestigious project in the West of England. You will be in charge of Surveying pre and post Engineering works on site, to check on Quality of Engineering works. The objective of the role is to deter snagging as much as possible and ensure works are being carried out to contract scope and client satisfaction.

You will oversee a small team of setting out engineers, and work with TWC/CRE in close proximity to be the eyes and ears on site.

Paperwork wise you will be responsible for reviewing Task briefings, method statements and designs. You will also be key to ensuring Inspection Test Plans are carried out (on engineering works) and report key defects from surveys back to the SPM and CRE.

Ideal Candidate

You’ll have a background in Civil Engineering within the Rail sector, notably focused towards Station Refurbishments and Bridge Renewals. You’ll be experienced in managing teams and have a clear focus of site safety. With the understanding of ensuring key documents being produced in conjunction with designs. Being from a technical disposition you’ll have the opportunity to progress your career further with the organisation into either Design Management or an Operational route into Project Management.

Remuneration

Offering a salary of up to £50,000 which will be dependent on experience. The full package will include a car or car allowance, 26 days holiday plus bank holidays, Professional memberships, contributory pension scheme, health care and life insurance.
