Our client are part of the UK’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, they are public body responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient clean-up of the UK’s nuclear legacy, their work involves a range of activities for safely transporting materials to and from nuclear sites and providing nuclear transport solutions for a range of customers based in the UK and Overseas.
They also provide transport services outside of the nuclear sector, operating a number of intermodal rail services in consumer goods and general freight markets.
We are recruiting for experienced Project Estimator to join the client based in Warrington, Hybrid working is available and they are recruting on either a permanant, contract or fixed term contract basis.
You will be responsible for taking the lead in the preparation of all project controls cost estimates, EAC’s/ETC’s, development and maintenance of project/programme schedules including progress management and scenario planning, risk management and project trend and change control production across all aspects of the business which align with a particular scope of work. Additionally providing the lead on development of estimating methodologies and data analysis techniques, as well as, providing variance analysis data and commentary for input to project/programme dashboards / reports and liaising with internal and external stakeholders on project/programme cost/schedule/risk issues.
The individual will be responsible for the implementation and management of project controls tools and systems to produce data, run management and analytical processes to predict, understand and constructively influence decision making around the time and cost outcomes of a project or programmes within specific business lines; taking responsibility for providing advice to various stakeholders both internally/externally through the communication of information in formats that assist effective management and decision making.
Essential requirement:
Candidates for this role should be able to demonstrate the following:
• The role requires an individual with experience of operating in a project controls or delivery environment with the ability to use or develop appropriate tools, scheduling, costs, and risk.
• Greater than 5+ years of project specific practical experience
- Experience within the Public sector, nuclear or rail background
• A professional project controls or delivery related qualification (or working towards)
• Experience with cost management, and estimating tools and systems, and analysis of data to support these.
• Experience with Primavera P6 planning software or equivalent
• Good communication skills
• Ability to organise and be a proactive individual with good time management skills
• Experience in the implementation of Earned Value Management based Project Controls systems in accordance with relevant national standards.
• Ability to develop budgets and analyse data with attention to detail.
