A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Management Assistant which may be of interest to current Project Co-ordinator’s. You will be exposed to the day to day activity of a Project Manager, providing the necessary exposure for progression within rail project management.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This opportunity for a project management assistant, working for a well-established train operator will allow the correct candidate to work on a fantastic project, supporting the project management team with a variety of tasks. This role will give the right person the skills and experience that can fast track your development within project management, specifically rail. The project will involve the upgrade of the facilities including cleaning systems, welfare areas, and accessibility.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the information flow at the project. Create and maintain Drawings Register, Issues Log, TQ Register, DRN Register etc
- Develop strong relations with all other functions within the business.
- Carry out site visits and surveys to capture project scope
- To assist the Project Management team and provide full administration support including taking robust and accurate meeting minutes
- Assist with Reporting, Masterplan Reviews and presentations
- Maintain the Project List for the Programme
- Assist with Planning Applications, Station / Depot Changes and Building Consents
- Assist PMs as and when required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Excellent Organisational skills
- Ability to work on own initiative and challenge when necessary
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of people at all levels
- Understanding of Project Documentation Requirements
- Understanding and knowledge of CDM Regulations
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Process driven with an interest in data
- Report writing and able to present to various stakeholders
- Experience in providing portfolio, programme and project support
- Experience in working with MS Project plans
- Experience in Project forecasting or financial principles
- Previous experience of working in rail environment is preferred
