Main Duties & Responsibilities
This role involves the day-to-day management of construction activities, closed out of records and the compilation of Health & Safety files for a major signalling project.
The PMA will be involved in attending meetings (inc. general organisation & minutes taking), managing various minor packages of design & site works, taking the lead on the Health & Safety files with NRG and liaising with the local NR Maintenance Team.
- Assisting the Project Manager to deliver major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.
- To ensure safety is maintained and promoted along with promoting the highest standards of safety on site.
- To establish and build relationships with key suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
- Assist in ensuring financial authority is in place for procurement and subsequent variations and management of the budget for the projects.
- Assist in ensuring approved design and construction documentation is in place, prior to works commencing.
- Produce regular progress reports.
- Assist in the management of the implementation of works by contractors.
- Assist in the management and resolution of design queries.
- Assist in the maintenance of an integrated programme schedule.
- Assist in the undertaking of risk management practises.
- Assistant in all commercial aspects of the project.
- Making day to day decisions around project issues
Person Specification, Experience & Knowledge
Essential:
- Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions and produce reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
- Ability to build effective working relationships, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally.
- Ability to plan and manage tasks to time, budget, and quality.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in a project management environment.
- Experience of working in an infrastructure/rail setting.
- Network Rail Experience
