Project Manager Rail Engineering (Remote)

We are currently dealing with a Rail Engineering consultancy who are looking to expand the team by recruiting a Project Manager, with their main office being based in Stratford-upon-Avon but offering full remote working. Reporting to the managing director, you will exercise project authority in respect of designated projects assigned by the Functional Management. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery on time and in specification and be accountable for the supervision of the programme assigned to meet the clients required delivery schedules and objectives during the GRIP process. You will be required to achieve project milestones and financial objectives to preserve the companys fiscal project investment, keeping open lines of communication with the financial functional contacts. As Project Manager, you will report and manage early warnings and variations on projects to Finance Directors and internal contacts. This role will manage the delivery of a variety of revenue streams across projects and be expected to provide input to and participate in the bid process.
Within the role as Project Manager, you will be taking a lead in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects with the Technical Director. You will be accountable for the entire project scope, and the successful delivery of clients project brief and specification. As Project Manager you will lead delivery of designated GRIP stage-works, manage projects and project teams in the companys primary depot market, as well as managing project planning cycles to ensure that key targets and objectives are achieved. You will also be working with the companys technical management to fulfil briefs, maintaining communication links across the teams. In this role you will be the main point of contact and communication for the client and will support and influence key decisions and co-ordinate resources so that deadlines are achieved. As Project Manager, you will inform and respond to any anticipated budget creep or cash shortfall that must be pre-endorsed by the companys Finance Director.

Job requirements:
- Relevant professional experience in the rail sector, minimum of 10 years experience, particularly as project leader
- Member of a project management professional body
- Experienced with signalling engineering in a project context
- Delivery of major works projects in the rail sector; through all GRIP stages
- Understanding of costing and margin protection delivery
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in a live project setting, with responsibility for budget and delivery
