£45,000 - £60,000 - Plus car / allowance and package

Summary

An established and experienced railway infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Railway Signalling & Power team and work on a wide variety of rail-based multi-disciplinary development and construction projects.

As a Project Manager you will be responsible for:

- Ensuring all activities are compliant with the Safety and Quality procedures.
- Monitoring work progress against programme, specification and budget. Initiate corrective actions and raise any variation orders or claims.
- Implement all instructions received from the General Manager, Safety & Standards, Personnel, Clients and others as appropriate.
- Organisation, allocation and control all site personnel ensuring their health, welfare and safety.
- Delivery of allocated work packages in accordance with safety, quality, technical, planning and budgetary requirements.
- Preparation of weekly costs value reconciliations for labour, plant and supervision.
- Preparation and submission of all contractual documentation.
- Attend progress meetings, planning meetings and site meetings as required recording the content of such meetings.
- Compilation of Accident and Incident reporting. This to include comprehensive investigation carried out in conjunction with the Group Safety Directorate.
- Preparation of method statements and the acceptance of such submitted by suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Establish a system for accurate production feedback to the Estimating Team and assist with tender and estimate preparation.
- Responsible for managing and checking designs and the production of compliant CDM documentation including the identification of applicable core and site specific risks.
- Maintain a continual awareness of forthcoming commercial outcomes by using break even analysis as part of the methods planning cycle.

Seeking Candidates with the below experience

- Demonstrable relevant experience in project management with a background working on railway projects
- A minimum HND or degree in a relevant subject ie. Civil Engineering/Construction Management, Telecoms or Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant experience in the UK Rail industry on Network rail projects
- PTS / SMSTS
- Formal Project Management certification is desirable. (Prince 2)
- Proven ability to lead teams, develop others, manage projects.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills

Desirable

- Ideally Hold chartership with Association of Project Managers or equivalent organisation or working
